FAQ's for Abel Tasman Paddle Boarding, Marahau
What should I wear Paddleboarding or on any of the trips with Abel Tasman Paddle Boarding?
You'll need your normal beach swimwear, the water is cool and refreshing but for the most part you are standing up and paddling. We provide rash vests and thermal tops if you require extra protection from the elements. It's a good idea to have a warm change of clothes for after paddling to get changed into.
What else should I bring?
Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses with a tether are a good idea as is bottled water and a snack for after your trip. If you have a waterproof camera, or a water tight phone there are loads of photo opportunities.
Is Paddleboarding difficult to learn?
In short no. Paddleboarding has a steep learning curve. You'll be cruising around in no time and can then refine your technique. We look for sheltered waters and will ensure you learn a new skill and have time to just cruise in paradise.
Am I too old/young to Paddleboard?
No and never! Paddleboarding is simple and suitable for all ages. It's about technique rather than brute strength.
